Why do people remember the things that they do? Why do some people remember more than others? If you could choose to retain more information, would you? Would you want to remember everything?
Too many questions in one post, but I'd love to remember everything. Knowledge is a new currency. Also, those who learn from their experiences the best, will be the most successful.
I agree that knowledge is power/currency, etc. I'd consider remembering and learning two different things.
I think it could be nice to remember more of what I wanted to remember (names, useful info, etc) but do you think there could be a reason that we don't remember everything? In all communication and sensory intake, we utilize filters to determine what is noise and what is meaningful content. With the huge amounts of information we encounter daily, we can't treat everything as meaningful content.
Have you ever heard of the power of thinking without thinking? AKA Rapid Cognition.
We think we are filtering out noise, but our brains are still remarkably efficient at processing and utilizing the info.
It is a skill you can improve on. The more you consciously interpret something, the better you get at subconsciously interpreting the next similar occurrence.
